How commercial waste routes work
Unlike residential council collection where every street gets serviced, commercial waste operates on route-based systems. Local providers follow efficient loops through areas with high business density: CBDs, suburban shopping precincts, industrial parks, hospitality strips.
When you book, we slot your business into your local provider's nearest existing route. You'll get a specific collection day based on which route serves your area. Most metro zones have multiple routes running different days, so there's usually some flexibility.
For addresses outside established routes, quiet suburban streets, rural properties, or newly developed areas, we assess case by case. If a provider has other customers nearby or your volume justifies a route extension, we can often make it work. If not, we'll tell you upfront rather than waste your time.

What affects whether a provider can service your site
Truck access
Rear-lift trucks need about 4m clearance height. Front-lift trucks need 6+ metres for the hydraulic arm. Tight laneways or basement car parks may need a site inspection.
Route distance
Adding a 15-minute detour for one bin doesn't make sense. But if several businesses in your area want service, a local provider can establish a new route section.
Bin placement
The bin needs to be accessible on collection day without the provider's driver needing building access, keys, or someone to meet them.
